The primary focus of the Motion Graphics Artist / Video Editor is to support the digital media production team in the planning, creation, and execution of groundbreaking motion graphic content. Likewise, this position will support the overall media efforts of the Michigan Credit Union League and its affiliated companies, including CU Solutions Group, FocusIQ and more. The position reports to the Director of Digital Media.

The company is majority-owned by the Michigan Credit Union League and has more than 100 investors comprised of credit unions, credit union leagues and credit union system organizations including CUNA Mutual Group and CO-OP Financial Services. Headquartered in Livonia, MI, the organization serves nearly 3,400 credit unions nationwide.


  • Create high-quality motion graphic content in the form of infographics, titles, lower-thirds, transitions, backgrounds and fully animated videos. Traditional animation skills are a plus. Ability to create templates for use by other video editors is a plus.

  • Film, edit and deliver video content for broadcast, web and social. 

  • Manage digital media projects, using standard project and product-management processes.

  • Ensure work and projects are well documented, with statuses reported to supervisor and/or clients on a timely basis.

  • Offer technical assistance and support to fellow producers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need:

  • Strong ability to adjust to change and work requirements.
  • Strong innovation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and group communications skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability with high attention to detail
  • Four year degree in visual or media communications, or similar program, and two to four years professional industry experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of video production process and techniques: conceptualization, scripting, storyboarding, shooting, editing, finalization to web or physical media.
  • Ability to comfortably facilitate and conduct engaging in-person interviews through planned and/or adaptive means. Ability to edit and publish a news-style video package quickly, following established quality or best practice standards.
  • Experience with electronic news-gathering (ENG) or field production. Proficiency with Apple Production Software (Final Cut Pro X, Motion, Compressor, etc.) and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects,Photoshop, etc.) with comprehensive understanding of footage review, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction and backing up media files. Proficiency working with professional, pro-sumer and consumer-grade HD video cameras; Blackmagic Design familiarity preferred.
  • Experience working with a content management system and the ability to on-demand troubleshoot and limited studio / field maintenance of production equipment
